Parenting Stress in a Pandemic

Updated: May 4, 2020

“There has never been a more important time for parents to look after their mental and physical health.” Professor Matthew Sanders

Are you feeling overwhelmed from juggling so many (extra!) responsibilities during the COVID-19 pandemic? During these exceptional times parents who are balancing trying to put on a brave face for the sake of their children, whilst burdened with the demands of trying to adapt to “the new normal”, can end up feeling like they are on an emotional rollercoaster.

A new podcast released by the University of Queensland offers a “safe space for parents” to share their feelings, ask questions, and pick up practical strategies for looking after themselves and their family. “Parenting in a Pandemic” is led by Queensland’s own Professor Matthew Sanders (founder of the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program) and is available wherever you get your podcasts. https://www.facebook.com/uniofqld/videos/264405864730879/ For individualised support, Compass Immunology is now offering appointments with Simone Jempson (Psychologist) at our Grange clinic. Simone’s approach is warm, collaborative, and evidence based, and she is experienced and passionate about supporting children and parents.
